# Using AI features in the beehiiv post editor

beehiiv offers an expansive suite of AI tools to help take your newsletter to the next level and streamline your workflow. The AI features are built directly into beehiiv’s post editor, making it a dynamic and powerful one-stop-shop for your creative needs. 

First, we’ll give you some quick tips to get you started. Then, we’ll share more information about the AI request limits. Finally, we’ll explore the customization options for your AI-generated creations.

## Quick tips to get you started

-   The AI **spell check** feature only works for English-language content.
-   Translating your content into another language will not change the [**default text language**](https://beehiivhelp.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4993791529751) for your publication’s auto-generated text. 
-   The **translation feature** of the AI writing tool currently supports the following languages: 
    -   English
    -   Spanish
    -   French 
    -   German
    -   Italian
    -   Portuguese
    -   Portuguese (Brazilian)
-   You can customize the text generated with the AI Writer tool using the following options:
    -   **Shorten:** Trims down the text.
    -   **Extend:** Adds more text.
    -   **Simplify:** Rephrases the text.

## AI Request Limits

Each workspace has its own usage request tally displayed in the **top right corner of your AI prompt box**. This limit resets every 24 hours and is shared across your entire workspace, including all publications, all team members, and all AI-powered features.  

Daily AI request limits by plan:  

-   **Enterprise** plan users have a limit of **100 AI requests** per day. 
-   **Max** plan users have a **limit of** **50 AI requests** per day. 
-   **Scale** plan users have a **limit of 25 AI requests** per day.
-   **Launch** plan users have a **limit of** **10 AI requests** per day.
-   **Free Trial** users have a **limit of 5 AI requests** per day.

## How to access the AI Tools 

1.  From your beehiiv account, create a new post draft or select to edit one of your saved posts.  
      
    Alternatively, when you're logged in, simply type [beehiiv.new](http://beehiiv.new) into your browser — or click it directly — to instantly start a new post.   
     
2.  Type **/** to access the **post editor**. You’ll see options for **AI Writer** and **AI Image** at the bottom of the options block.

3.  Alternatively, you can type **/AI** to bring up the two AI tool options.

## How to generate an image using the AI Image tool

1.  From the **AI Image** tool, type a description for the image you’d like to create in the window labeled **Prompt.**

2.  Select the **Image Style** you would like from the dropdown options. Choose from: Photorealistic, Digital art, Comic book, Neon punk, Isometric, Line art, or 3D modal.

3.  Click **Generate Image** to see the results. A loading screen will appear letting you know it's **Generating cool new stuff.**

4.  Your results will generate in a few seconds. If you are happy with your results, click **Insert** to drop into your post or **Discard** to delete it. You can also click **Regenerate** to generate a new image.

## How to complete a sentence using the AI Writing tool

1.  Highlight the sentence you would like to complete in your post and click the **AI icon** on the right side of the toolbar.

2.  Select **Complete Sentence** in the dropdown menu. A loading screen will appear letting you know it's **Generating cool new stuff**.

3.  This will generate a finished sentence which you can customize using the options that will appear above your new paragraph. When you have completed your customization, click the **check mark icon** to finish.

## How to generate new text using the AI Writing tool

1.  From the **AI Writer** tool, enter your prompt, including the topic and any other specifications.

2.  If desired, specify the **Text length** by clicking **Settings > Text options.** Under **length,** you can specify how many paragraphs, words, or characters you want your text to be. Click **Reset** to return to default options.

3.  Under **Text options**, you can also toggle on the **Generate heading** option.

4.  If you wish, you can change the tone of the text by selecting **tone of voice** from the dropdown menu.

5.  Hit **Generate text** to see a preview. From here, you have the choice to **Discard, Regenerate,** or **Insert** it into your post.

## How to spell check text in the AI Writing tool 

1.  Highlight the text you’d like to spellcheck in your post and hit the **AI icon** in the toolbar.

3.  This will automatically correct the text in the editor.

## How to translate your text into another language using the AI Writing tool 

1.  Highlight the text you would like to translate to a different language and click the **AI icon.**
