# How to create and verify your beehiiv account

Welcome to beehiiv! Setting up and verifying your account is a quick and straightforward process, allowing you to get started on building your newsletter in just a few minutes. Follow these steps to create your account and ensure it's fully verified, so you can begin crafting and sharing your content right away.

## How to create and verify your account 

1.  From [beehiiv.com](http://beehiiv.com), click **Start trial**.

2.  You’ll be directed to the [Pricing page](https://beehiiv.com/pricing), where you can compare the features of each plan. To begin your 14-day free trial, click the **Try for free** button.

    >
    > The 14-day free trial of the Max plan does not require a credit card. Trials end upon upgrading to a paid subscription. If you choose not to upgrade at the end of your trial, you will lose access to the features available during that period. Please note that while you can access select paid plan features during your free trial, you remain subscribed to our Launch plan and are subject to its respective limits.
    
3.  Once you've made your selection, you'll be directed to a page where you can create your beehiiv account. Please enter your first and last names in the designated fields.

4.  Enter your email address and create a password. Click **Get Started**.
    
    > **Note**
    >
    > The password must be between 8 and 20 characters long and include at least 1 uppercase letter, 1 number, and 1 special character.

5.  You’ll be directed to a page to verify your email. Click the **Open** option to access your inbox. If you haven't received the verification email, click **Resend Email**.

6.  Locate the email in your inbox with the subject line '**Please confirm your email.'** Open the email and click **Verify** to confirm your address.

7.  You'll be prompted to verify your phone number for spam prevention and security purposes. If you'd like to receive updates from beehiiv via SMS, check the box that says **I want to receive updates about beehiiv via SMS.**  
      
    Enter your phone number and click **Send Code.**

8.  Retrieve and enter the code you received via text message. If you haven't received a code, click **Resend code.**

9.  Your account will be verified. To personalize your newsletter setup, choose from the options: **Experienced, Beginner,** or **Curious**. You can also select **Skip** for a less-guided experience.  
      
    After making your selection, click **Continue.** For the purposes of this guide, we selected the Beginner path.

10.  You’ll be directed to a page where you can create your publication.  
       
     Enter your **Newsletter Name**, which will be displayed on your landing page. Choose your **Subdomain Name**; this will be part of your publication’s live URL.

11.  Personalize your publication by selecting up to 3 content tags under **What’s your newsletter about?**

     >
     > These tags are important as they influence the ads, Boosts, and recommendations your newsletter will receive, so choose wisely.

12.  Upload your newsletter logo by clicking **browse** or **upload**. We recommend using an image size of 800 x 800 pixels.

13.  When you have finished adding all of your information, click **Continue**.

14.  You’ll be prompted to indicate how you heard about us. Check all options that apply, then click **Continue**.

15.  You’ll be asked whether you are publishing a newsletter independently or on behalf of an organization. Make your selection and click **Continue**. The next questions will vary depending on your choice.

16.  Once you’ve completed the creator questions, you’ll be prompted to indicate how often you plan to publish. Select your preference and click **Continue**.

17.  In the final step, you’ll have the option to upgrade your account to access all features, including those not available during the trial period, immediately.

## Frequently asked questions

**What if I don’t receive my confirmation email?**

As a first step, add 'buzz@tx.beehiiv.com' to your email provider’s safelist and resend your confirmation. If after that you still do not receive your confirmation email, please [ask our Chatbot Assistant](https://beehiiv.ada.support/chat/) for further assistance.
