# Adding internal backlinks to your beehiiv posts

Internal backlinks are a powerful way to connect your beehiiv posts, allowing readers and search engines to navigate your content more effectively. By linking related posts directly from the post editor, you can help readers discover relevant articles and encourage them to explore more of your publication.

## How to use the internal backlink feature 

1.  From the left panel, click **Newsletter** to open a post you would like to edit, or click **\+ New** to open a blank draft post.  
     
2.  On the post canvas, type the **left bracket key** twice \[\[. You’ll see a list of existing posts and drafts you can link to.

3.  You can refine the options by typing the name of the post you want to link to, which will filter the results.

4.  Select the post you wish to backlink to, and the link will automatically populate in your post.

5.  To change the appearance of the backlink, click the link and select the **pencil icon**.

6.  To delete the backlink, click the link and select the **trash can** icon.

## Additional backlink options

7.  Click the **link icon** at the top of the post editor to open the backlinks modal.

8.  From the **Outgoing** tab, you can view all backlinks added to the post you’re currently editing.

9.  From the **Incoming** tab, you can see posts that include backlinks to the one you’re editing.

10.  Click any link in the modal to locate it in the editor. Use the **pencil icon** to open the linked post for editing or the **Preview** button to view the linked post.
