# Hiding sections of your website on desktop or mobile

With the beehiiv Website Builder, you can hide any section of your website from either the desktop or mobile version at the click of a button. This option is available for every section on every page including your navbar and footer, giving you full control over how your content appears to visitors on different devices.

## How to hide a section of your website

1.  Open the [**Website Builder**](https://app.beehiiv.com/website_builder_v2) and navigate to the page where the section appears.   
     
2.  From the left panel, click the **Layers & Navigation icon** to open the tab. 
    
    For easier editing, click the **pin icon** at the top to keep the Layers & Navigation tab open as a fixed sidebar.

3.  In the **left sidebar,** select the section you wish to hide.   
      
    On the **right** **design panel**, under **Section,** you’ll see toggles labeled:

-   **Hide on Desktop**
-   **Hide on Mobile**

>
> When you hide a section, all containers and elements inside it will also be hidden from that device view.

4.  Use the **YES** or **NO** options to hide the section as you wish. Set either option to **YES** to hide that section from the selected device view.

5.  Once hidden, you’ll see a **hidden icon** on both the canvas and in the left sidebar, confirming that the section is hidden on the live site.

## How to hide your navbar or footer on a page

You can’t hide your navbar or footer as individual sections across your site, but you can control whether they appear on a specific page. This can be done in a few ways as outlined below.

### From the left icons panel

1.  Open the intended page in the [**Website Builder**](https://app.beehiiv.com/website_builder_v2).   
     
2.  From the left panel, click the **Layers & Navigation icon** to open the tab.

3.  Click the **3 dots menu** next to Navbar or Footer, then select **Disable for this page**.

### From the right design panel

Optionally, you can do this from the design panel on the right. 

1.  Select your navbar or footer on the canvas.  
     
2.  Go to the **Show on Page** option.

3.  Switch the **Show** option to **NO**. Once selected, the element will be removed from the canvas.   
     
4.  Publish your site to see the changes live.
