Available on paid beehiiv plans. Click here to upgrade your account.

When using the beehiiv Ad Network, placing ads in your post is quick and easy. Once you’ve accepted one or more weekly ad opportunities, the ads will automatically appear in the post editor for you to add into your content. For the most relevant ad opportunities, make sure to set up your ad preferences.

Ways to include an ad in your post

Tech Note: You’ll need to have accepted one or more ad opportunities from the weekly email or directly in your Ads dashboard before following these steps.
  1. Start a new post or open an existing draft in the post editor. If it’s new, select a post template.

  2. Upon opening a post, you’ll see any ads you accepted that week available in a module at the top of the canvas.

  3. When you are ready to place an ad into your post, you can simply drag and drop the ad from the module at the top of the post into its place.

Otherwise, type / to open the command menu and choose Advertisement under Premium (or type /ads).

  4. An ad block will appear in your post with a list of your accepted ads. Click to select one.

  5. The selected ad will show on your post canvas where you can manage it in a number of ways.

From the ad block, you can:
  • Hover over the block to access the icons above it.
  • To feature the ad’s ‘In partnership with’ info at the top of your post, click the settings icon on the left, and then click Insert manually placed logo. (More details below.)
  • Click the trashcan icon to remove the ad from your post.
  • Click on View details to see the payment type and amount, ad creative, scheduled date, and a preview of the ad.

Reminder: Ads can only be sent one time and only on the selected date.
  1. (Optional) You can adjust the logo or style of the ad. On the preview popup, under the Ad creative area, click Edit. From there, you can view the ad with or without a logo and select the ad copy when there are options.

Make your selections, then click the Save in the bottom right corner of the popup.

Feature the ad’s ‘In partnership with’ info to the top of your post

When you select the Insert manually placed logo option on an ad you’ll be brought up to the top of your post where you can resize the sponsored ad logo or adjust the text.

From the ad at the top of your post, you can:

  • Hover over the block to access the icons above it.
  • Click the image icon to adjust the image width or alignment.
  • Click the settings icon to change the sponsor text.
  • Click the trashcan icon to remove the ad from your post.

Adjust the ad’s visual and visibility settings

You can also control a number of other settings for the ad using the 6 dots menu found to the left of the ad block.
