How to delete your beehiiv account

If you no longer wish to use the platform, it’s easy to delete your beehiiv account.

Since every account includes at least one workspace — where you manage your publications, team members, billing details, and more — you’ll need to delete or transfer ownership of all workspaces you own before you can delete your account. You will also need to remove any custom domains that are connected to publications or websites in your workspace.

While deleting your account is easy, it is also irreversible. The account associated with your email will be permanently deleted, and if you wish to use beehiiv in the future, you will need to create a new account and start over. 

If you are on a paid plan, as an alternative to deleting your account, you always have the option to downgrade your account to our free launch plan. This gives you the flexibility to return to beehiiv at any time, without any commitment, and without having to start over completely.

Are you a newsletter subscriber, not a beehiiv user? This article is for people who have a beehiiv creator account. If you're a reader subscribed to a newsletter that's built on beehiiv, you have different options.

To stop receiving emails from a publication, use the Unsubscribe from all communications button in your subscriber profile (accessible from the footer of any email you've received by clicking on Update your email preferences or unsubscribe here).

If you believe you were subscribed without your consent, use the I did not sign up for this button in your subscriber profile instead. This both unsubscribes you and alerts the beehiiv team to potential abuse. If you're in a geographical area covered by privacy laws and want your personal data removed entirely, you can submit a data deletion request. 1. Click on your profile icon in the top-right corner of your account, then select your account name.
   
   
2. You’ll be brought to your profile settings, on the Profile icon tab. Click on Account security.
   
   
3. If you still own a workspace, you’ll see an Account Profile Deletion prompt explaining that you must first delete or transfer ownership of all workspaces before proceeding.

3. Once all workspaces have been deleted or transferred, the Account Profile Deletion prompt will give you the option to click Delete Account. 
   
   
   
4. A confirmation prompt will appear explaining that deleting your account is permanent and you’ll no longer be able to log in with your current email. To continue, type DELETE into the field and click Continue.
   
   
   
5. A final confirmation will appear for you to review. Click Confirm to permanently delete your beehiiv account.
