How to publish your website

Once your site design is done, publishing is the final step to make your website live and accessible to your readers.

Publishing options for the Website Builder are found in the right corner of the top navbar. Click the arrow next to Publish to access them (shown below).

Before publishing, make sure to:

• Switch between Desktop and Mobile views using options in the preview toolbar to confirm your site looks great on all devices.
• Enable the pages you want to be live (step 2 below). If a page is not enabled, attempting to view it on your live site will result in a 404 error.  In the case of 404 error, you can set up a 404 redirect in Builder > Settings > Redirects.

If your published changes aren't appearing on your live site, check which pages you selected before publishing. By default, only the page currently open in the builder will be published unless you select All Pages or choose specific pages under Select Pages. 

Changes can also take a few minutes to appear due to caching. If you're still seeing old content, try viewing your site in an incognito window or clearing your browser cache with a hard refresh (Ctrl+F5 on Windows, Cmd+Shift+R on Mac).

1. When you're ready to make your website live, click Publish in the top navbar to access the publishing options.
   
   
   
   
    
2. Select the parts of your site to publish:

•  
  • This page only: Publishes only the page currently open on the canvas.
  • All pages: Publishes every page in your site.
  • Select Pages: Opens a dropdown list so you can choose specific pages. A number at the top will indicate how many pages you’ve selected.
  • Exit publishing options: You can also click the arrow next to Select Pages to return to the main menu.
    
    
    

3. Click Preview draft site to review your changes before going live.
    
4. When everything looks good, click Publish to live site.
    
5. Visit your site URL to confirm the updates are live.
    

If you've published but your site doesn't reflect the changes you expect, check these common causes:

• Only one page was published, not all of them: If you clicked Publish without selecting All Pages or specific pages under Select Pages, only the page open in the builder at that moment goes live. Revisit the publishing options and confirm the pages you intended to update were actually selected.
• Changes take a few minutes to appear: Published updates can take a short time to propagate due to caching. Give it a few minutes before troubleshooting further.
• Your browser is showing a cached version of the page: If enough time has passed and the update still isn't visible, your browser may be displaying an old cached copy. Try viewing your site in an incognito or private window, or do a hard refresh (Ctrl+F5 on Windows, Cmd+Shift+R on Mac) to force your browser to load the latest version.
