How to add subscribe forms to your website

You can add fully customizable subscribe forms directly to your site using the native blocks available in the Website Builder. These forms allow you to tailor the appearance and placement of your signup experience across different pages of your publication.

Each form can be assigned a unique signup flow, giving you complete control over what happens after someone subscribes, from recommended newsletters and surveys to paid subscriptions and custom thank you pages.

This article covers quick tips for using subscribe forms effectively, how to add them to your site, and why it’s important to assign a signup flow to each form.

• Subscribe forms and survey forms serve different purposes
  Subscribe forms on your beehiiv website focus on capturing initial signup details such as name and email. They are fully customizable and lead your readers through a signup flow experience.
  
  Survey forms, on the other hand, are added directly to posts and help you gather additional information from existing subscribers. Both types of forms use custom fields to store and organize data in your account.
• Subscribe forms are different from your Signup page
  Your Signup page is part of your beehiiv publication site and is customized through the Website Builder. Subscribe forms can be added to any page on your website, and both lead your subscribers through a signup form experience.
• Subscribe forms on your website are different from an embedded subscribe form
  Embedded subscribe forms are used externally, or on custom pages within a website built using the Legacy Website Builder. 
• Build audience segments for your forms
  You can craft audience segments based on which embedded form a subscriber used, helping you target specific subscriber groups more effectively.
• Trigger automations when someone subscribes
  Use the Email Submitted trigger to start an automation workflow whenever someone completes a subscribe form. You can also link a subscribe form block directly to a specific automation using the Manual trigger — useful when you want subscribers who submit a particular form, such as one on a custom page or landing page, to enter a dedicated workflow automatically. 1. From the left panel dashboard, go to Website > Builder. 
    
2. The Website Builder will open with a preview of your site on the canvas. Navigate to the section where you wish to place the subscribe form, then click the + button at the top of the icon menu. 
   
   
   
3. The Elements modal will open. Under Templates, click Blocks. 
   
   
   
    
4. The Blocks template library will open. Click on the Subscribe form tab. Browse the available designs, then click Add block to select your preferred style.
   
   
   
5. Your new subscribe form will appear on the canvas. Click on the form and use the Up and Down arrows to move the form within the section. 
   
   
   
6. With the form selected, you’ll see customization options in the attributes panel on the right. You can adjust colors, padding, orientation, and more to match your brand.
   
   
   

Each subscribe form on your website must have a signup flow assigned to ensure subscribers are guided through the correct post-signup experience. If no specific flow is assigned, your default signup flow will automatically apply.
