Website dashboard overview

Notice: The website dashboard is only available to publications using the new Website Builder. It is not available for legacy websites; migrate your site for the best use of beehiiv.

Every website built on beehiiv comes with a dashboard that gives you a centralized view of your publication's website performance. Use it to review your site's configuration, monitor traffic and engagement metrics, find helpful resources, and take action on issues that may be affecting your site.

To access your website’s dashboard, go to Website > Overview from the left panel in your account.

Website overview

The Website overview section at the top of the dashboard shows a thumbnail preview of your site alongside key configuration details at a glance:

  • Domain: Your website's URL, along with a Live badge if your site has been published.
  • Published: A timestamp showing when your site was last published.
  • Pages: A count of your published, draft, and disabled pages.
  • Search Engine Preview (SEO): A preview of how your site appears in search engine results, including your site title and meta description. If no description has been set, it will display No description set.

Click Edit website in the top-right corner of the overview to open your site in the Website Builder.

Website analytics

The Website analytics section provides a snapshot of your site's most important traffic and engagement metrics over a selected time period. Use the timeframe filter in the top-right corner to adjust the date range.

The following site metrics are displayed:

  • Unique visitors: The number of distinct visitors to your site during the selected period.
  • Page views: The total number of pages viewed during the selected period.
  • Sessions: The total number of sessions recorded during the selected period.
  • Bounce rate: The percentage of visitors who viewed only one page before leaving.
  • Session duration: The average amount of time visitors spent on your site.

Each metric also displays a percentage change indicator showing how performance has shifted compared to the previous period.

Click Visit analytics to open your analytics dashboard for a more detailed breakdown.

Note: Website analytics availability and date range options vary by plan. For full details, see Understanding your website analytics.

Resources and links

The Resources and links section provides quick access to video tutorials to help you get more out of the Website Builder. Click Watch tutorials to browse the full tutorial library, or simply click on a title to open the video.

Needs attention section

The Needs attention section surfaces active warnings and issues that may be affecting your website's performance or discoverability.

Each item is labeled with a severity level:

  • Important: Issues that can meaningfully impact your site's performance, such as pages missing SEO metadata, or social sharing images.
  • Info: Lower-priority items to be aware of, such as disabled pages.

Click on any item to open a detailed view listing the specific pages affected.
From the list of pages you can:

  • Click Fix next to any individual page to go directly to the relevant settings.
  • Click Dismiss to remove an item from the list without taking action.
  • Click Go to site SEO settings at the bottom to address the issue at the site level.
  • Click Close to dismiss the module.
