Using the beehiiv command palette
The command palette is a unified interface for searching, navigating, and taking action anywhere in beehiiv. From one place you can jump to any page, find a specific post or subscriber, or run a command, giving you even more control over your workflows while using beehiiv.
How to open the command palette
You can open the command palette two ways:
- Press ⌘K on Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux.
- Click the search bar at the top of the page.
Once you’ve opened the command palette, you have numerous options:
Navigating the beehiiv app
Use the search bar to type anywhere in the app you would like to go. You’ll be presented with a direct link that will take you straight to that feature.
Searching for resources
Need a little extra help? Type what you need help with, then click Search knowledge to find knowledge base or beehiiv blog articles without leaving the app.
You can also click → Go to Help Center for a quick link directly to the KB (where you are now!).
Switching between publications
To switch to a different publication, open the command palette and type the publication you want to switch to, or simply type Switch. Publications that you have access to will appear in the results. Select one to switch to it immediately.
Context-aware commands
When you are viewing a specific resource, such as a post or a segment, commands scoped to that resource appear at the top of the results. For example, while creating a post you might see options like View post, Edit post, or Duplicate post.
Keyboard shortcuts
You can trigger common actions with two-key shortcuts without opening the palette at all. Press the first key, then the second key in quick succession. These work anywhere in beehiiv as long as the palette is closed and your cursor is not inside a text field.

Frequently asked questions about the beehiiv command palette
The palette is not opening when I press ⌘K or Ctrl+K. What should I check?
Make sure your cursor is not focused inside a text field or the post editor when you press the shortcut. Browser extensions that use the same shortcut can also interfere. Try clicking a neutral area of the page first, then press the shortcut again.
Can I use the command palette to switch between my publications?
Yes. Open the palette and type the name of the publication you want to switch to, or simply type Switch to see all the publications that are available for you to switch into.
The two-key shortcuts are not working. Why?
These shortcuts only fire when the palette is closed and your focus is not in a text input. If you are editing a post or a form field, the keypresses are captured by the editor instead.
