How to add a logo or thumbnail to your publication
Understanding logos, favicons, and thumbnails
Logos
Your logo is the main visual representation of your brand, providing identity and personality to your newsletters and publication. A consistent logo helps keep your brand memorable for your readers. Once added to your account, your logo will be prominently displayed on your Signup Page and used throughout your publication, as well as your mobile app. The recommended size for a logo in beehiiv is 800x800 px.
Favicons
Favicons are small but significant. They are the tiny images that appear in the tab of your browser and help users quickly identify your website among many open tabs. In beehiiv, your logo also appears as a favicon, to ensure consistent branding and help your audience easily recognize your site.
Thumbnails
Thumbnails are essential for enhancing the visual appeal of your content and boosting engagement. Unlike logos, which are typically square icons representing your brand, thumbnails are rectangular images that offer a preview of your brand or post.
Thumbnails are used when your content is shared on social media and also act as a preview of your newsletter posts on your website. The recommended size for a thumbnail in beehiiv is 1200x630 px.

How to upload or update your publication logo
- From the left hand panel Dashboard, scroll down and select Settings.
- Your publication settings will open in the General Info tab. If you have multiple publications, select one from the dropdown options.
- Under Publication Logo, you will see an option to browse or upload. Click the box and upload your logo.
If you already have a logo, but wish to change it, you will see your current logo in place of the browse or upload button. Click your logo to update.
For optimal results, we recommend using a logo image size of 800x800 px.
- New logo changes will be saved automatically. You’ll receive a quick Logo saved message at the top of your screen.
How to upload a publication thumbnail
- From the left hand panel Dashboard, scroll down and select Settings.
- Your publication settings will open in the General Info tab. If you have multiple publications, select one from the dropdown options.
- Under Default Thumbnail Preview, you will see an option to browse or upload. Click the box and upload your thumbnail.
If you already have a thumbnail, but wish to change it, you will see your current thumbnail in place of the browse or upload button. Click your thumbnail to update. Your changes will save automatically.
