How to update the address and copyright text in your email footer
Your email footer includes two important pieces of information: a physical address, which is legally required, and your copyright text, which helps protect your content. Both appear at the bottom of each email you send and can be edited in a few different places depending on your needs.
This article walks you through how to update both the address and/or the copyright text in a few ways:
- At the post level: For one-off edits while drafting a newsletter.
- At the publication level: To apply changes to all posts and templates in a specific publication.
- At the global workspace level: To use a shared address across all of your publications.
Why these footer details matter
- Address: Required by anti-spam laws and our Acceptable Use Policy. If left blank, beehiiv will automatically display our New York business address to ensure compliance.
- Copyright: Helps protect your content and establish brand ownership. The post copyright defaults to your publication name but can be customized.
