Creating a link in bio page or site

Notice: This feature is part of beehiiv’s Winter Release Event and is being refined based on user feedback. Functionality and behavior may continue to evolve as improvements are rolled out.

A link in bio page or site is a simple, mobile-friendly landing page that hosts all your most important business and/or personal links in one place, perfect for sharing across social platforms.

The Website Builder lets you create a link in bio page directly in beehiiv, allowing you to consolidate your content strategy and control your audience journey from the very beginning. You can add your link in bio URL to any social platform, and if your publication uses a custom domain, it will automatically reflect your brand, strengthening your professional presence.

You can create a link in bio page in two ways:

  • As a stand-alone site during the Website Builder onboarding flow.
  • As a page that’s part of your larger website within the builder.

This article walks through both options so you can choose the one that best fits your workflow, then rounds out with some FAQs.

How to create a simple link in bio page as your website

If you’re a creator who wants a quick, minimal setup, you can create a stand-alone link in bio page as your website. This option appears directly in the Website Builder onboarding flow, and you can always add more pages later as your content grows.

  1. From the left panel in your account, go to Website > Builder

  2. When prompted with ‘What are you here for?’, select Link in bio, then click Next.

  3. Select a template. On the template selection page, choose a template that fits your brand or style, then click Next to continue.

Tech Note: Most templates are available on the Launch plan, but some are exclusive to paid plans. These templates are labeled with an Upgrade tag to help you see what’s included in your plan.
  4. Customize your color palette. Choose from preset palettes, use the remix icon to swap colors, or select Generate with AI to create brand-aligned colors. Allotted AI requests reset monthly and vary based on your plan type and plan tier.

    Click Next when finished.

  5. Select your typography. Click on Core, Primary, Secondary, Teritary, and Accent to hand select your fonts or you can choose from preset combinations. Use the remix icon to mix up your font choices, or use the Generate with AI option to create font suggestions based on your prompts. Allotted AI requests reset monthly and vary based on your plan type and plan tier.

    When done, click Next.

  6. Add your social links. These links will be attached to the social icons on your page. When finished, click Next

After you complete your onboarding, you can update these social links at any time by navigating to Website > Builder > Settings > Socials.

Tech Note: Social icons shown in the builder are placeholders. Only the links you add will appear on your live site once published.
  7. Customize your link buttons and URLs. Add up to four links initially (you can add more later), then click Next.

  8. Change your background image (optional). Hover over the background image in the left dashboard to reveal the Upload icon, upload your image, then click Next

Tech Note: Only templates showing an image background will have the option to update/change the image.
  9. Review your page. Once you’re happy with your setup, click Start building to enter the Website Builder.

Tech Note: The image shown at the top of your page is for design purposes only. When you publish or enter the builder, this placeholder will be replaced with your publication logo. But you can update it to use another image if you wish.
  10. You’ll be given the option to publish your site immediately or open the builder to make more customizations. Click Continue once you’ve made your choice.

After setup, your new link in bio site becomes your homepage in the Website Builder.

Pro Tip: If your link in bio includes internal links (such as to your Upgrade or Recommendations pages), choose Explore the editor and finalize those pages before publishing your site to make sure all links work correctly.

Important Note: Your link in bio page won’t be visible until your website is published. Attempting to view it beforehand will result in a 404 error.

How to create a link in bio page on your website

  1. In the Website Builder, open the Pages tab from the icons menu. Scroll down to Custom pages, then click Add page.

  2. The custom pages template library modal will open. From the menu on the left, select Link in bio

  3. Choose your preferred link in bio template, then click Set title and URL

  4. On the next screen, enter your webpage title and the URL, then click Create page

  5. You’ll return to the Website Builder, where you can customize your new link in bio page, adding all of the links and details you’d like to show on the page.

Tech Note: Your new page inherits colors and settings from your site template. The placeholder image and social icons shown are for design purposes only. When published, your publication logo replaces the placeholder image, and only the social links you’ve added will appear on your live page.
