Subscriber status

A label that indicates a reader’s current relationship to your publication, primarily whether they can receive emails and whether any action is required.

In beehiiv, statuses include:

• Active: Subscribed and receiving emails.
• Paused: Temporarily not receiving emails; can resume without re-subscribing.
• Inactive: No longer receiving emails (e.g., unsubscribed or bounced).
• Pending: Signed up but hasn’t confirmed their email.
• Needs Approval: Awaiting manual approval when that setting is enabled.
